Definition: "Talk therapy" directed at minimizing psychiatric symptoms and improving well-being.

Psychotherapy is provided by a psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, counselor or therapist. While there are many different types of psychotherapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is probably the form used most often for Obsessive-Cumpulsive Disorder (OCD).

Examples: The doctor recommended a combination of Prozac and weekly psychotherapy to treat John's OCD.
